We’d love to hear from you!

The goal of this workshop is to open up your creativity and get writing. Writer, Yasmine Mehio will give you tools to unlock your ideas and storytelling techniques to create a character and take them through a full story. With a mix of lecture, practical exercises and creative consciousness, you will leave feeling inspired and uplifted.

Screenwriter and fan fiction guru, Yasmine has coached all kinds of writers and non-writers in all fields with one goal in mind, to get creative and get writing. She has a love for both writing and design and in 2006, she discovered the world of fanfiction. She has since been an avid (and rather famous!) fanfiction writer, writing over 200 stories to date. She has written fanfiction for ABC’s show Lost, for CBS’s Scorpion and Under the Dome, and most recently, and most prolifically, fanfiction for NBC’s Blindspot.  She’s gotten so much attention for her stories online, that the creators of these shows have been known to tweet with her and give her secret spoilers. Her feature film scripts have competed in Hollywood and she is currently a staff writer at fadein for TV series and branded content.

This workshop takes place on Saturday 8 July from 10:30am – 1:00pm and is taught in English (Arabic is spoken) at Warche13 in Tripoli.

Who can take this workshop?
Whether you’ve been writing your whole life, or, you’ve never written a story, this workshop is for you. Because in creativity, there are no levels.

Yes. Everyone is creative, that’s just a fact, but most of us build barriers to stop us from creating. In this workshop, we’ll break those barriers.

Where can I use these skills?
We will be focusing on fictional storytelling, however, the tools learned in this workshop can be used in professional writing (proposals, pitches, even emails) and better communication.

– The creative brain and your own creative-awareness
– Creative skills for idea-building and finding your story
– Character building & story structure
